About Lynne

I have been involved in academic writing for three decades – as a university writing professor, a writing center director and writing tutor trainer, and a published academic author. I understand that many intelligent individuals are challenged by conveying their ideas in writing, and I have found that these challenges are best met by individual attention and directed discussion with a knowledgeable editor. 

In my career as an instructor and professor in universities in the US and abroad, I have worked with students and academic writers on a wide range of subjects – from engineering to sciences to business to design to education. Instructing academic writing in international universities – along with years as an English-as-an-Additional-Language (EAL) instructor – have allowed me to skillfully support multilingual clients who struggle with academic English.

Moreover, I am a published author in leading journals and in reputable academic texts and have co-edited a multi-authored text on international writing research.

In 2020, I traded in large university classes for the more individualized instruction that I prefer to become a consultant and editor in Dubai’s DEFT & LEED Training Institute. In that capacity, I conducted workshops and provided one-to-one consultations on business and academic communication for individuals and local businesses. 

In 2022, I decided to focus on what I enjoy most: working directly with writers by providing academic editing services. I founded Lynne Ronesi Academic Editing to support writers’ entrance into the community of academic inquiry by ensuring their research and innovative ideas make sense and meet academic standards.
